LATAM Airlines announces new daily service to South Africa

LATAM Airlines Group announces two additional frequencies per week to its São Paulo-Johannesburg route, thus providing daily service between both cities. The route is currently operated five times a week out of São Paulo/Guarulhos international airport. The new daily service is scheduled to begin on April 5, 2019. Any date change will be announced in due time.

LATAM is the only Latin American carrier that connects the region with the African continent. This new announcement highlights the importance of the operation and reflects the company’s strategic plan to continue connecting Latin America with the world.

New frequencies for the São Paulo-Johannesburg route

The new São Paulo-Johannesburg service will operate on Fridays and Sundays. The flights will depart from Guarulhos at 17:55 local time and will have a duration of 10 hours and 20 minutes. The new return flights will depart from O.R. Tambo international airport on Saturdays and Mondays at 11:35 local time and will have a duration of 11 hours and 25 minutes. The new frequencies will also be operated by Boeing 767 aircraft with capacity for 30 passengers in Premium Business and 190 passengers in Economy class.

LATAM Airlines continues to strengthen its international destination network

Just in 2017, LATAM started service to 13 new international destinations, including its longest flight ever: Santiago-Melbourne. During this year, LATAM is adding 17 new international flights, including the already launched service to San Jose (Costa Rica), Rome and Boston. The next new destinations confirmed for 2018 are Lisbon (September) and Tel Aviv (December). A new direct flight between Santiago and Cusco will be added in August.

With these new routes, LATAM will offer flights to 143 cities in 26 countries, making it the Latin American airlines group with the largest network of international destinations.
