Two new monitoring devices for cargo transportation with controlled temperature

Transparency and timely information are two essential attributes of cargo transportation requiring strict temperature controls. That is why LATAM Cargo has recently approved two devices, Sendum PT 300D and CartaSense U-Sensor, adding up to seven devices available.

These customer property devices are inside the cargo bay and allow them to monitor the temperature, humidity, vibration, and other factors that can influence the integrity of the cargo throughout the transportation chain.

Sendum PT 300D and CartaSense U-Sensor are the last two devices certified by LATAM Cargo, adding up to seven available devices.

The company has a team especially dedicated to validate new devices, according to the needs of customers. Once these requests are received, a number of procedures follow which culminate in the approval by the authorities for use on LATAM Cargo aircrafts. Since all devices are different, this administration is done individually for each one of them.

Once the device is certified by LATAM Cargo, the customer can use it to monitor the transportation of any type of cargo. However, almost all of them are used for cargo of pharmaceuticals and some shipments of perishables, given the strict temperature control that these goods require throughout the journey.

To date, LATAM Cargo has seven approved devices for monitoring during transportation, which can be used on all network routes: FedEx SenseAware 2000; Berlinger Q-tag CLM doc; Moog Crossbow ILC2000; OnAsset Sentry 400 FlightSafe; OnAsset Sentry 500 FlightSafe; Sendum PT300D; And CartaSense U-Sensor.
