One male and three female alligators were successfully relocated to a new home in South Florida. Their journey took them from Johannesburg (JNB) to Miami (MIA) via Sao Paulo (GRU) onboard LATAM Cargo, in partnership with Aircross, as part of an exchange program between zoos in South Africa and the United States.
The gators arrived in perfect condition at St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park thanks to the care provided by the ALIVE service, one of the 11 care options offered by the portfolio rolled out by LATAM Cargo in 2016.
ALIVE relies on highly trained staff for the transportation of live animals, areas with adequate temperature and ventilation, maximum loading priority and reduced reception and delivery deadlines, among other benefits. The combination of efforts allowed the four alligators to move into their new home in late September.
