Air Cargo Europe: cargo industry leadership

Air Cargo Europe, one of the cargo industry’s most important fairs at a global level, took place in Munich, Germany, during the month of May. The latest edition of the exhibition, organized once every two years, gathered around 52,000 visitors and 215 exhibitors from more than 100 countries.

It was LAN CARGO’s fourth time at the fair, this time alongside TAM Cargo. The seventh edition of Air Cargo Europe brought together the main cargo airlines in the world and the main actors involved in the logistics of cargo transport: suppliers, cargo agents and ground transportation representatives, among others. Thus, the company strengthened its position as the main cargo operator between Europe and Latin America.

This time, LAN CARGO focused on its new Pharma product, which received a warm welcome from customers.

“For more than two years, several areas in the company have been working intensely to develop this new product, especially designed for the pharmaceutical industry. We took advantage of this opportunity to formally present it to the different actors in the industry, following the official launch in Europe. The connection network, both to and within Latin America, represents a big advantage to both customers and pharma labs. Moreover, the direct freighter flight that we launched in October last year between Basel, Switzerland and Guarulhos airport in Sao Paulo is a great option for this sector because it minimizes risks by avoiding pre-flight ground transportation and ensuring the fast and safe arrival of shipments to their destination. LAN CARGO and its affiliates offer the best and most complete transport solution to Latin America, considering coverage and the great variety of alternatives available”, said Guido Henke, Director of LAN CARGO Europe.

During the exhibition, company representatives met with some of the main cargo agents in Europe and several pharmaceutical forwarders visited the stand. LAN CARGO representatives also met with its main European customers, its sales agents, and some of its global customers and suppliers.

Álvaro Carril, Commercial Cargo VP, Tomás Silva, Global Accounts and Alliances VP, Guido Henke, Cargo Director Europe and Frank Hermann, Cargo Sales Director Europe participated in the exhibition representing LAN CARGO, alongside the staff from the different European cities in which the company operates.

LAN CARGO currently operates six weekly freighter flights from Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Basel to South America, with a cargo capacity of 100 tons per flight. Additionally, it offers belly capacity on passenger flights that operate from Frankfurt, Paris, London, Milan and Madrid, with availability in over 50 weekly flights from Europe to South America.
