The Guarulhos international airport, located in Sao Paulo, is one of the main strategic points for TAM Cargo’s domestic network, its main center of operations in Brazil, and the hub from where cargo is distributed to the rest of the country.

The Sao Paulo-Manaus route is operated by Boeing 767 cargo aircrafts which have a 50-ton capacity. The fleet complements its service by utilizing the bellies of TAM passenger aircrafts.

During the last quarter of 2014, following an increase in the frequency and an adjustment of schedules, we hope to grow five percent in the monthly volume of cargo transported on the Sao Paulo-Manaus route, via Guarulhos,” Diogo Elías, Sales Manager of TAM Cargo’s Domestic division, said.

Since 2013, TAM Cargo has made significant investments to improve its infrastructure in Brazil. In November last year, it inaugurated a new cargo terminal in Manaus with a total surface area of 13,000 square-meters and 5,000 square-meters in built surface, turning it into the company’s largest facility in the country.

By the first quarter of 2015, the company hopes to finish a 20,000 square-meter terminal at Guarulhos airport, in Sao Paulo. These investments are part of a USD$20 million plan destined to expand TAM Cargo’s infrastructure in the country.

The cargo network of LATAM Airlines Group  services 42 airports in Brazil, with cargo collection in more than 300 cities and delivery in more than 3,000.
